Networks will sometimes experience issues that seem unidentifiable. These issues may be within the infrastructure through which your data is traveling. This is where cable and fiber testing enter the picture. If cables have been installed exceeding certain lengths, at certain angles, or on equipment that doesn’t fully support the capacity of the cable, these can all create problems that could be slowing the network down or providing poor performance at the end points.
TSAChoice uses specialized equipment to complete testing of new or existing Cat 3/4/5/5e/6/6a copper. These tests include propagation delay, DC loop resistance, insertion loss, and return loss. Once issues are located and identified, they can then be corrected to make sure your infrastructure is operating at optimal levels.
TSAChoice can also provide fiber optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) testing. An OTDR test can help identify an individual event and can discover issues along the length of a fiber channel that might play a part in long time reliability.
In the case of cut or damaged fiber, TSAChoice has the equipment to align fiber ends and fuse them together. We use fusion splicer equipment to complete this process, providing lower loss light transmission than a mechanical splicing tool would provide.
